Sitting well above my goal weight....
And that's in the nude! Strange things still continue in my body at the moment. I'm going to have to change my ways now or I'm going to keep putting on.
Thanks for all the comments on my last post. I'm sorry I didn't respond individually but I haven't been able to find the strength to take control this week, which meant me trying to block out my weight issues all together, and hence, ignoring the great support I've been getting.
I've just bought a new pair of scales with a body fat reading built in ( Tanita UM-018 $150 from Harvey Norman - Impulse buy!). Iv'e set them up on the bathroom floor (hard surface). Unfortunately the reading isn't good: 67kg (WTF!!) and 29.5% body fat. I need to get both these figures down. Healthy body fat for woman 20-39 is 21%-33% and my healthy weight range is 56 - 70kg. So I'm sitting high in both my healthy ranges - figures I definately need to get down. I want to get back down to 63.5kg and maybe reduce my body fat figure by say 5%.
New goals, new motivation right? Well ... still waiting for that to kick in. I can't help thinking that my weight gain is a direct result of changing my pill, skipping the period and not watching my eating so much.
Incidently, to clear up any confusion with my last post. Doc said it is safe to skip my sugar pills for 3 months, then have a period on the 4th month. She has put me on a Monophasic pill which gives me a constant level of hormone. I've actually been on this one before, it's Norimin 28day, and the reason for the change is to try and control another problem, which it is doing quite nicely. I was warned that fluid retention might occur. I'm now taking a mild herb diuretic in order to keep it under control.
The joys of being a girl! I'll be on my own again for 10 days so I'll be watching my points this week, and now that I have more accurate scales (my other ones are 2-5kgs out!), I'll be skipping the ww meets and using my own readings.
I've exercised 3 times this week, and gotten lots of incidental walking in, but it's not really enough to lose, so I'm also going to up the exercise and maybe go for a long walk on saturday or sunday. Since I will be on my own, my aim is to also have a healthy weekend, stick to my points and substitute eating with walking when I get restless!
To the future and beyond....

Now why did I have a Buzz Lightyear moment just then? LOL
The good news is that nothing that has happened to your body in way of weight gain or body fat percentage increase is irreversable. It's a bugger and a pain in the neck, but you can fix it. And with your walking plan, the herbal stuff, and watching the points you will be well on your way to pulling it back.
I think the scales sound fantastic and I am sure if I am allowed to go into Harvey Norman I would be walking out with a set too :)
Have a great week Cath. Will be checking in
Good on you Cath - you sound very focused and ready to tackle this challenge. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better than last time - as you said, the joys of being a girl!
Hope you've had a relaxing, healthy weekend xo
Glad you are OK though. You will soon get rid of the extra now things are settling down. You are sounding very positive and that's good. Take care.
We have Tanita scales too - I dunno if they're the same model but regardless, they're awesome. :)
You sound really positive and focused which is awesome. You will get back down to the kgs and body fat % you want, no worries.
Oh babe, it sounds like this pill business is really messing with you. The new scales will hopefully perk you up. I have the Tanita ones too and they are great. I think maybe the work situation might be playing a part in all this too? You got to look after yourself, eat better and move more. It does make a difference. You can do it and it looks like you sure know you can too with planning a healthy weekend :-)
So no more WW at all?? I hope we can still do breakfasts though. I'm going to stick to WW for at least another 6 months now that I'm lifetime and see what happens. Big *HUGS* Cath!
