Reestablishing healthy habits
Who would have thought it would be this hard! I haven't officially counted anything in about 3 months, there have been a few 'good weeks' in between, but mostly I've been pretty slack. And the scales are there to remind me. I'm too embarrassed to go back to my ww meeting - I'm about 2kgs over goal at the moment and my clothes are getting tight again.
I tried each day last week to eat healthy. And each day I had failed by lunch time. Bloody hell. No will power. Not even a smidge.
Today is different. I'm sitting on 18.5. I'm feeling hungry and light headed but that will hopefully only last a couple of days. I'm also feeling organised, or semi-organised. I have a whole bunch of exciting goals this year. A lot of them are woven into my work, but work has become a lifestyle for me now. Here's a list, if I can check even half of them off this year, I'll be happy!:
- Lose 4.5kg. (ie, the 3 I put back on + the 1.5 that didn't budge last year!)
- Get organised with my lunches - I've gotten so lazy working in the city
- Set up my work space so that I am comfortable and productive
- Get up to date with my filing
- Save $100/week (??)
- Get 2 new clients - have already found 1
- Take a short holiday to Melbourne
- Buy a new computer
- Print my business cards (aghhhhh... a designer with no cards - terrible)
- Get a pedicure
- Update my website
- Create a new design for my blog
Now, on a slightly more fun note. I got MAC'ed on the weekend. No, not Big Mac'd! I had my face done over by the girls from MAC in MYER (Makeup Artistry Cosmetics). It was great fun, and I learnt some cool techniques on how to make my eyes look more defined. I also spend $320 on makeup! (I've NEVER spent that much on makeup in one go, not even close!). Anyway, I came home and chucked out all my crappy palettes and old cakey lipsticks and made some room for my new party eyes and day eyes and stuff. Great fun.
Next up is my annual Really-Expensive-Haircut-That-Grows-Out-In-Two-Or-Three-Weeks. I'm hoping to book it in within the next couple of weeks. Soon, Cath V06.x will be complete. Hopefully all in time for my 26th birthday in May.
Woah. I'm waffling again. I've had a good day. Hope you guys have too.
Ciao for now.
Cath

Well done on having a list - I would be lost without lists and nothing would get done because if it isn't on a list, most times it doesn't get done !!!!
Have a great 2006 - I am sure that with you being more focusses you will achieve what you want to achieve.
Cheers
Me
So glad to see you back Cath! I've missed you! I hope you had a lovely Christmas and NY, and that 2006 will bring you all the things you dream of.
Drop by and say hi sometime! xx
Welcome back to blogging. As much time as it can take up sometimes, it is good for motivation and sticking to goals. All about balance, isn't it?
Glad I'm not the only procrastinating list writer! Some of my lists even have "write list for xxx" on them - sad huh? After being sick of collating scraps of paper and then losing them I now have a note book, it's just one continuous list.
You might think some things on that list are trivial, but if they help clear your head so as you don't feel bogged down 'in things to do', then good. And at no time is a pedicure EVER trivial.
Yay for going out and getting the make-up, even after spending so much you probably have a lot less now, but it would be lovely to have all the right things rather than a mish-mash of I-need-a-new-brown-eyeshadow-as-all-my-others-just-wont-do type of collection. I have always been a bit scared to sit there at the counter, but now I think I am going to make that one of my rewards - thanks!
Love the lists..I started one last night as well. Does help a sense of achievment when things get done. Love the idea of the new you. Good for you...makeup and hair..we want pics.
"Back to basics" and you will soon be back to your goal!
Good luck with everything you have listed.
What a great list. I haven't had a makeover for ages and you have just reminded me how much fun it can be. Though I will accidently forget my wallet so I can't buy any stuff :D
I love your list and none of it is trivial. I am still writing up my proper actual list for this year and I think every list is a good thing.
Have a great day Cath :D
