Read the label

After a week of feeling less than spectacular, subjecting myself to the elements (bloody public transport), and being dosed up on cold and flu tablets, I felt that I 'deserved' a bit of a break. My appetite arrived back yesterday afternoon, and we didn't have anything in the house that involved chocolate, so I ventured outside to find some. The 'convenient' store across the road provided the required quantities. As I couldn't pin-point exactly what it was I wanted, I got some of those digestive biscuits with choc and caramel on top, a choc muffin cake mix, a block of cadbury dairy milk and some cream (which my gold-digging store charged me $19.80 for!). When I got home, I had a biscuit... then 3 more and decided I would wait till after dinner to make the cup cakes - then cover them with the choc sauce (made by combining the cadbury with the cream).

I should have stopped at the biscuits as I've just read the label - 1 1/2 points each! wtf! so that was 6 points I'd consumed, before I had my greater chocogasm after tea. Naughty naughty naughty!

I don't feel too bad today though. And I just stepped on the scales to get a sneak peak of what they might say on Tuesday - 66.6kg Cool! But I do need to fit in a couple of walks before then - this weather makes me wish my gym membership was already activated (have to wait until the gym is built... founding member... what a sucker!).

So I'm putting my self on 20 point for today, Monday and Tuesday to try and undo the damage. And in the meantime I still have 10 choc muffins, choc sauce, 20 biscuits and 1/2 the cadburys to mentally 'block out'.

Wish me luck!

Not to chipper

I haven't posted in a few days, as I've been busy, stressed and not really focused on any one thing. I managed to track my food last week - right up to about 6-30pm Friday - it was all over after that. The weekend was a bit of a write-off entailing lots of eating and drinking, and not nearly as much exercise as I had planned. Now I have the flu, or a nasty cold, either way, I'm not at work today and I won't be going for my planned walk tonight. I'm a bit irritated as I have been eating well, and exercising more, but the stress has got me down. My loss for this week is modest (.6kg) and I'm not sure I can sustain it without exercising. I hope I feel better by Friday.

I think my body is craving a holiday of some kind. I haven't had a decent break from work in a long time. Christmas the last few years has been a bit of a family affair which, for me, is stressful and not at all relaxing. I want a couple of weeks off, my style > no routines, no best behavior and no RSL Chinese! C and I are even thinking of stealing a midweek mini-break in the Hunter. His Mum will be in town for a week at the end of October so we will try and drive her home (to Tamworth) and stay in the Hunter on the way back. I'm not sure if I can get the time off from work yet, but I'm going to give it a go. Wish I had more holidays up my sleeve!

I'm going to finish this up and do some B&B research. Hope everyone is having a decent week.
